1. After a really cool, wet spring and early summer, we are still playing catch up in the gardening department. I’m no Joel Salatin, but I’m pretty sure it’s not a good sign if you’re still planting when you’re sunflowers start to bloom.

Oh well. Container tomatoes and peppers are looking ish. Lettuces hanging in there in the heat. Herbs doing their thing. The only thing going gang busters is the cucumber, which only one person in our family will eat. You win some, you lose some.

2. I’m very excited that one of my favorite podcasts is back for season 4. Have you heard Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell? It’s phenomenal. He’s an exceptional story teller.

 3. After a strong start at the beginning of the year, I’ve slowed down on my Cath lit 2019 reading challenge. I’m 5/19 of the way through the list and half way through the year. Oops. I blame it on Kristen Lavransdatter, which was amazing, but very lengthy. I’m not sure what I’ll tackle next. Maybe Brideshead Revisited?

4. I made a batch of this 3 ingredient strawberry mousse. I’m also thinking any of these spritzes rounded up by Jenny Rosenstrach  from Dinner a Love Story would be amazing this summer.

5. Finally, I love the common sense suggestions in this articlefrom the NYT on setting up tech boundaries as a family.

“There’s no single recipe for success, but you’ll know it when you see it. Balance for your family will look different than it will for your neighbor because every family is unique and parenting styles and values vary. In general, though, if your family can reap the benefits of technology without feeling many of the harmful effects and you feel confident in how your children are using technology, you’ve likely found balance.
